What To Do in a Dental Emergency?
- Call Us: Call an emergency dentist near you for an urgent appointment. The ER can not offer follow up care, and do not have access to the same technology and equipment a dentist has, such as making same day crowns.
- Control bleeding: If you are bleeding, apply pressure with a clean cloth or gauze to the affected area until the bleeding stops.
- Save a knocked-out tooth: If your tooth has been knocked out, try to find the tooth and place it in a small container with milk or saliva to keep it moist. Bring the tooth with you to your appointment.
- Manage pain: If you are experiencing severe pain, you can take over-the-counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen to manage the pain. However, avoid aspirin as it can increase bleeding.
